Publisher's Description :
Graphics Mill 3.1 is an image processing component developed for the .NET platform. It is indispensable for developing applications that work with images. Whether creating a photo hosting website, an application which carries out preprint preparation of images, a script, generating web graphics, or any other imaging application, you will find Graphics Mill of great help.
Graphics Mill is a very versatile component and can be used in wide variety of applications, involving photo, print and document imaging. It consists of three parts:
Core class library - is a set of (non-visual) classes which perform imaging operations: loading/saving images from/to files, applying different transforms and effects, converting pixels between different color spaces, drawing lines, curves, shapes, text, etc.
Windows Forms controls – are a set of Windows controls which leverage using Graphics Mill in desktop Windows applications. These controls enable you to display an image, zoom it, pan, select a portion of the image, as well as print it.
Web Forms controls - are a set of unique web controls that provide the user with a great GUI for image displaying and editing. Using these controls you can easily build web photo editors and other kinds of imaging web applications.
Striving to avoid great performance problems caused by using 100% managed code on the one hand and the so-called "DLL Hell" problem, when managed and unmanaged code is mixed by writing wrappers .NET classes, on the other hand, Graphics Mill is written with a revolutionary approach. In Graphics Mill, managed and unmanaged C++ code is mixed in a single assembly. This means no .NET-foreign DLLs are distributed. There is no need to register any DLLs or place them into system folders. Applications can be deployed with a simple xcopy and never have versioning problems. Also, since unmanaged code can be called inside managed code without any platform interoperability higher performance is achieved.
