     To create a shareware screensaver that requires license key , for sale or for any use , first of all you should have a professional edition of Power Screensaver Builder.
     Following steps show how to create a shareware screensaver:
1 : Select "Registration" item in "Settings" tab , and fill some information required in "reg seed" , "trial period" and buy link .ect.



     The registration seed is a unique string that is used to distinguish with other screen saver you create , you can enter any string in the field , different registration seed for different shareware screen saver. it will be used as a parameter to create license keys to unlock your screen saver .

2 : To easy distribute your screensaver , please use a screensaver installation file (setup) in "Output" tab .

3 : Shareware screen saver will pop up window to let end user visit the buy page specified in the first step when trial period is expired or end use open the screen saver configuration dialog , such as following:

      Power Screensaver Builder uses the Windows Media Control Interface driver to play video movies in screen savers , what codecs are supported by PSSB is depend on What codecs have been installed to your Windows system . That is to say , if you had installed a MPEG-4 codec on your system , you can add a MPEG-4 video movie to your screensaver. Use the Windows Media Control Interface driver to play video movies can reduce the size of output file and can use all codecs on your system.       To check what codecs have been installed on your system , you can click (for XP) "Start" ---->"Setting"----->"Control panel" -----> "Sounds & Audio Devices"---->"Hardware", select the "Video codecs" and click the property page. (These steps may have some difference in different Windows operating system.)

To reduce the size of screensaver , just use the small size media in your project , In two ways:
1.Convert your bitmap Image to a Jpeg image . You can use the build in tool convert your bmp files to jpeg files before you add them to your project.
2.Use MIDI sound files in your screensaver projects.

  To convert a bmp file to jpe image , please use built in image convert tool come with Power Screensaver Builder. It lets you do that easily. Please click "Tools" menu and select "Image convertor" item to bring up the tool, then add your image files and set the output path ,then click the "bmp to jpeg" button or "jpeg to bmp" button ,that is all. Icon files also can be converted to bmp files use this tool.

The following instruction shows the detail:

  1. Add images you want to convert

  3. Convert JPG to BMP

Your computer display settings might be set to 256 colors, In order to view image that have colors more than 256, your computer display settings needs to be set to at lease 16 bits or higher.

To use Power Screensaver Builder to create a screensaver (including image slide show screen saver , flash movie screesnsaver , video movie screensaver), please following steps below :

1.Open Power Screensaver Builder program , you can specify a name and a short description for your screensaver. In this trial ,we set the name "My first screensaver" and the description text is "My first screensaver http://www.efiresoft.com".



2. Add media files(image,flash,movie files)

Tips : You can click the "Property" button to customize your screensaver project setting.(include screensaver caption,description,Background,Transition effects etc. )


3. Add background music files(MIDI, MP3, WAV)

4. Create screensaver file



5. Now ,you can goto the output directory and set the output screensaver file to the Windows default screensaver.
